Glitter Flower

Hello! I hope everyone has been having a good week so far!!

OK so this is one other one that doesn't have a whole lot of notes because I didn't have my notebook but I remember a little more on this one,

1. So first I stamped my little flower image which I believe is one of those $1 stamps from Michels.
2. Then I took my quickie glue pen and traced over where the image was stamped and put some Sparkle N Sprinkle Misty Isles glitter Then I went through and colored in the not glittered parts... I wish I hadn't though... It just looks funny...
3.I cut the background layers using my cuttlebug and spellbinders card creator dies. Then I used the Spellbinders nesties scallop circles and large circles dies to cut out the background for the flower.
4. I sponged/blended some Memento Rosebud Ink onto the circle that the flower was stamped on. After I masked the flower of coarse.

I don't know why I'm wearing it I must confess, My dress my dress I love my dress would someone tell me why I put it on.

OK this card made me think of a song from one of my favorite musicals and I couldn't help myself.

1. First I cut the background with my card creator dies.
2. Then I used my perfect layers to do all the other layers (and broke my gyro cut in the process :( )
3. I glued it all together!!!

I did use my chameleons to color the image!

Yellow Flowers

Alright this will be a quick one because it's still one of the ones that is missing notes! (There's only one more after this) But again most of the paper is from DCWV and I believe that image is a digi from Becky Higgins. I also added some yellow flocking to the flower. Here's a closer picture.

Orgnizing Update: Ink and Coloring. And the First Day of the Party!!

Hello Everyone!! It's organizing Update Day! This week is Ink's and Coloring and this is where my reward from last week comes in!

I got a new marker case!!! I haven't bought any new copic markers in probably about 3 years because my smaller case was filled and I had nowhere to go with them!! Now I have tons of room!

Then for inks I've been sort of working on a catalog... I'm still knee deep in the stamp catalog so I haven't gotten the ink one going yet but I did print out these that I will use to start with.

And since I promised updates on the craft binder here's a few in progress pictures.

So there's no new challenge for this week. So there won't be an update post next week. But! I still have something awesome planned :)

And don't forget it's the first day of the DS4J Party on Facebook!

The wonderful Margy has shared a fabulous Freebie for today's party and of course I made something with it!

I really like how bright and colorful this one came out!

New Desgin Team!!!

What a 3rd one? Yup! I can't wait to be a part of the Crafting When We Can Design Team and it's time for my first challenge! This months challenge is use a Digi Stamp and we have a wonderful sponsor of Melonheadz!

Unfortunately at the time I'm writing this and when I made the card I've been fighting a cold so it's not the best thing I've made and this blog post won't do it near enough justice.  When I got selected for this team and went to select my choice for my first sponsorship images to work with I was originally going to just pick from the ones others had already selected then I was looking through the store and found this set and I knew I had to have it!!!

It's Newsies!!! OK the actual set is called newspaper but come on guys it's Newsies!!! Did you really think I could pass this up!!! I'm so excited to really get into using this set once I'm feeling a little better!! In fact I'll probably go curl up in my bed and watch Newsies while I try to shake this cold!! (Still hoping I'm over it by the time this goes live!!)

I hope you'll join us over at Crafting When We Can!!!

MY FIRST RELEASE DAY!!!! And a PARTY!!!

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!! IT'S MY FIRST DS4J RELEASE POST!!!!
Unfortunately I have a bit of a cold so this is not my best work or my best blog post... (Although hopefully I'm better by the time this goes live!)
OK now that I have that out of the way... Take a look at these.

Don't stop laughing

So I was feeling a little uninspired this past weekend and honestly was starting to feel like all my cards looked the same  so I went over to my pintrest page and visited my favorite board CARD SKETCHES!!! Instant inspiration :)

I love that sentiment and how simple this card is.

Now.. I have to be honest... I lost my notebook where I take the notes on my cards (eventually I plan to have a place in my binder for these) .... I know, I Know... So this week I've only got what I can remember and all I have for this one is...

The blue flower paper is from The Paper Studio....

I'm sorry guys....

This was a really quick card I put together but I think it turned out really nice!

1. I colored and cut out the image.Which is a free digi from Becky's Place.

2. Then I used black paper from my stash and the patterned paper is from DCWV. I used my cuttlebug and my card creator dies to create the layers.

3. I glued it all together.

That's it. Lots of simple cards this week!

Best Friends Part 2

Here is the other best friends card I made and this one features a super cute DS4J image.

I thought i used my card creator dies on this one too but now that I look at it again, I don't think I did.

1. First I cut all my paper. The black is from the stash

2. Then I colored in the girls and cut them on my SNC. You can find the image here.

3. I glued it all together!

Challenges:

Best Friends Part 1

So my best friend and I live about an hour and half away from each other. Which means we don't get to see each other often. We usually can bet on seeing each other 3 times a year and some times we get lucky and can plan a quick weekend get together. I've been missing her a lot lately but we have a skype date planned this weekend! We like to craft together so we are having a virtual craft day. But today I have cards that are sort of inspired by us.

So by the time I was making this card and the one for tomorrow I was super sick of cutting layers so I finally went and got my spellbinders card creator dies! I have them and don't use them nearly enough! The layering looks so much better!

1. I cut out all the paper with my cuttlebug and card creator dies. The patterned Paper is from The Paper Studio  and the purple paper is from Cricut.

2.I colored and cut out the little girls which are from Deerie Dolls

3. I glued it all together!

Orginzing Update Stamps and Die Cuts

So this week was Stamps and Die Cuts. I've really been enjoying this week. I've wanted to create a stamp catalog for a long time, so that's what I've been working on right now. I'm actually working on what I'm calling a craft binder. Basically it is slightly inspired by a friend of mine who made a super cute little technique binder where she puts small samples of techniques she's learned, mine just goes beyond that. I want to eventually have a technique section, a stamp section, an ink section and maybe a die section although I haven't quite figured out how I want to execute that section yet. I don't have it set up yet so I don't have a picture but I will share as I work on it.

But this is what I'm at right now.

That's that double sided stamp organizer I bought from HSN. Everything fits in it! It's amazing and I love it. I'm still struggling with organizing my clear stamps though... I'm thinking of getting some of those Avery Elle Stamp pockets they look really cool and I saw a really cool thing on pintrest but I need my own place and my own craft room for that :P

Remember when I bought those Karen Buddy Bags from HSN yes the original plan was to store my stamps in there but the longer sets don't fit and I'm not a fan but I do love it for dies!!! I'm not sure I like the sticky die cards.. but I love the pockets to store dies in! Everything fits in one bag right now but I want to get some more dies so I'm sure I'll need the other bag soon enough but this is what I've done with it.

I've created a die cut and glitter station!! This is just a way for me to keep everything a little controlled. All my cuttlebug materials can stay together and the glitter and flock and eventual embossing powder have one corner where they stay and it can kind of contain the messy products. One thing I love about those Karen bags is that my cuttlebug platforms fit in the bag to! I always take my cuttlebug to crops because I don't like to travel with my electronic machines. Being able to have everything in that bag is going to be awesome come scrapbook expo!

Margy and Conie

Doesn't that sound like fun! I mean who doesn't like prizes! Stay tuned for a special birthday project from me! Today is also the midway point of the DS4J monthly challenge!

I was really excited when I saw this sketch and while it's not the best card I've made. It's not normally something I would do so I really liked it!!!

Not everything came out super straight but I like it.

1. I made this card a little bigger, it's 4.75x6.5.
2.Then I cut out the black piece.
3. I grabed a bunch of my spellbinders dies in small squares and rectangles The paper with words on it is from DCWV and the purple is from Cricut.
4. Then I stamped my sentiment which is from a unknown stamp set. The ink is memento rosebud.
5.  The purple flowers are from Eyelet Outlet that we bought at last years scrapbook expo. I paper pierced the wholes then stuck the brads in which I believe are also from eyelet outlet.

I promised you a card today didn't I?

I really like how this one came out.

1. I colored and cut out the flower vase which is a digi from Sparkle N Sprinkle

2.  I cut the pink and blue paper out on my SNC it's simply the same shape cut just slightly smaller to create the mat. The blue paper is from the stash and the pink paper is from DCWV.

3. The flowerish paper is also from DCWV. I cut that out with a black mat to fit the card base.

4. Then I glued it all together!

A trip to the LSS

So about a week or so ago my mom and I took a girls day trip to one of our LSS. It's relatively close to where we live but far enough that we don't go often and it's a treat to visit. So today I thought it would be fun to share what my mom and I all got.

These 2 go together but I'm so excited to finally have my Tool-in-One! I've already used the paper piercer end and I'm already in love!

This one is kind of boring but it needed to be bought. I use this stuff a lot. My SNC mat and Cricut mats are struggling to stick and this is my preferred way to keep my paper in place when that happens. I also like to use it to keep dies in place when I run them through my cuttlebug!

This is one of those I need it things but I'm actually really excited about it. I hate re-filling my markers but I'm super excited to try it with these.

This is a pair of reverse tweezers. My mom has a pair of regular tweezers that we usually use but they were too much work for me so I bought these and they're pink which I think is awesome!!

This is another boring one. I bought some extra brush nibs because I think it's a good thing to have on hand.

I love this tool! I haven't used the little tacky pick up end yet but I love the other end right now for taking off the backs of double sided tape!

This one is for my mom. We both have big scor pals but she has the original version that doesn't have all the line on it and she's been wanting the smaller one. So she bought it. :)

Last but not least my mom got some paper. I'm not sure who the manufactures though.

That's it. My guess is that the next haul post will be coming from SCRAPBOOK EXPO in April!!

Never fear tomorrow there will be a card!

Gyro Cut

Today I have a little product review. This is by far one of my favorite products that I have started using in the last year.

This is the Gyro Cut. It's a craft knife but it works like a pen and the blade moves around as you move it so if you draw a curve the cutting sharp pointy part of the blade moves with the handle. I've always struggled with getting craft knifes to work well for me but this works perfectly for me. I've been using this since August and used it to do all my fussy cutting before I got my scan n cut in December. I still use it to do clean up if I need to!

Another Design Team!!!

That's right not only was I accepted to the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge but also the Digi Stamps 4 Joy Design Team! I'm so excited to be able to design with these wonderful digi's! And to clebrate here's a card I've created with one of there beautiful digi's!

I absolutely love this card and the Digi Stamp!

1. I printed out the Digi which is called Dream then I colored her in with copics like this.

            Skin: Ell,E00,E000
            Hair: E39,E35,E33
            Pink: RV21,RV23,RV25
            Purple: V12,V15,V17
            Green, G05
2. Then I cut her our on my Scan N Cut. Now it cut out most of it but not all of it, it got the outline sure but it missed a lot of the in between spots . So I went in with my Gyro Cutter to get those little inside parts. I'll be doing a small product review post on that tomorrow.

3. Then it was paper time. The black I used to just back the other papers (it was a think my friend did one day when I was at her house and we had a craft day that I really liked so I stole it. Hi Chelsea! if your reading) is from the stash. The pink paper in the front is from Cricut and the first layer paper is from DCWV.

4. Then I added the bling which is by Kaiser Krafts

I am so excited to see what great things I can create with DS4J products!

Organizing Update Embellishments

So this may come as a surprise but I really don't have a fondness for embellishments. I don't use them a whole lot although I'm getting better with them. And I just have so many of them!!! I almost never make Christmas cards because I just have too much Christmas stuff!  When my mom and I got our scrap-rack 2ish years ago we loaded most of our embellishments into it. So honestly most of this was done. There were a few things that just needed to get sorted through and added in that we had accumulated in the last year or so. Here's what are scrap-rack looks like it's far from pretty and pretty overloaded but we've purged quite a bit and we've been pretty good about using stuff.

So for this challenge it's been a lot of working on back-stock. We have Ribbon and Washi Tape stored in other places. We also have glitter stored in other places. So I've been working on sorting through everything and "Cataloging' where the majority of it is stored. So pretty much everything is done! We still have a little more to do over the next few weeks as the challenge continues and sorting embellishments continues to be homework but we hit a little snag in that we wanted to put a few things in those really small baggies but we don't have those right now. We have to take a trip and go get some!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge: Half of the Sensational 6

Most Disney fans can list off the fab 5. Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto,  But add Daisy into the mix and you get the sensational 6. And this card features half of them.

This is my second post on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge DT and my first one that is officially on my week! So first here's the sketch.

And here's the card!

I'm so happy with how this one came out! And yes something didn't come out as planned on this one. The sentiment was stamped with Versamagic Pixie Dust and it came out way to light! So I went over ti with a sparkly pink gel pen. Also Kelly from Sandcastle Stamper another one of the Crafty Cardmakin Chicks  had asked me awhile ago where I got the goofy stamp I used on this card. Well I found the Disney Sets on Amazon! The one with Daisy, Pluto and the Goofy shown in the other card is here. And Mickey and Minnie are here

1. Once again I had previously colored these images.
2. The pink and black paper is from the stash. and the green is from Die Cuts with a View

Baby Girl

Isn't this a cute little baby card! My favorite color palette can basically be summed up as baby. I love those super light pastel colors! As far as the what didn't go so right here it's simple really I just wanted to put some washi tape on it but I ran out of room!

1. Again this was another previously colored image (I'm almost through them!) This one is also from Deerie Dolls.

2.All the paper in this one is from the stash.

3. I used my stamp-a-mijig to stamp the Congrats in Memento Rosebud. The stamp is still from the mystery set.

4. Then I added the little pink bling which is from KeiserKraft

Miss You

When I found this image in the pile of previously colored things that I was trying to use up it just screamed miss you card!

This is one of if not the only card that actually came out the way it was planned to.

1. Again this a previously colored image I had lying around it's from Deerie Dolls and fussy cut on my SNC
2. And the paper is simply layered. It didn't show up well in the picture but there is a green flower layer it's the second layer and that layer is from the scrap box (the companion line to the stash right? it can be 6x6 paper pad line. For those of you who don't know and are new to the blog the stash is my made up paper line consisting of paper that I no longer know where it's from) The rest is from Crete Paper
3. The Miss You stamp is once again from the mystery set and I stamped it in Memento Pear Tart

HSN Craft Day Haul

That's right... I caved and ended up buying a few things from the recent HSN 24 hour craft day... Now when I show this off some of the stuff I show is my moms but while I live at home we share. (I mean we'll always share stuff I'm sure but it's much easier when you live in the same place)

So first up we have Totally Tiffany stamp suitcases. They came in a pack of 3 and they hold a lot! I don't even know if we'll need all 3!

My mom got the Diamond press machine. She didn't really want a big cuttlebug like I have but she likes the smaller diamond press. We haven't played with it yet though!

This is my answer to the stamp suitcase. I like this one a little better and all my favorite stamps only take up one side of it! Except for the one big background stamp i have that doesn't fit with the rest.

I really like this product. It's the totally Tiffany EZ2O Karen Bag. Most of my clear stamps don't fit in here.. so I'm still on a mission to find a way to organize those but it fits all my cuttlebug plates and dies perfectly. I've only had it for a few hours but so far I love it!

This is the product I was most excited for! It's the Totally Tiffany Ditto Desktop Organizer. It holds a lot! All my go to supplies that I always keep on my desk fit in one side! So I still have a whole other side to use!
